General Listening Instructions
HolinessMusic.com is currently broadcasting two different streams, both of which play the same music. The difference between the two streams is the quality (bit rate) of the stream.
Our high-speed stream
is for users who have a broadband
connection (T1, DSL, or Cable). This
stream is playing music at 64kbps, which is supposed to be “near-CD
quality.” This stream is a LIVE
broadcast feed coming from a computer of which we have full control of the playlist,
the order of songs, etc. We supply a
stream of music to Live365 and they basically rebroadcast it using their audio
servers. Live365 has full control of the
advertising you hear at the beginning of each listening session. Once the stream begins to play, we do not
play any kind of advertising. We
have excluded ads that Live365 determines are “adult, tobacco, or alcohol” type
of ads.
Our dial-up stream is playing music at 24kbps, which is supposed to be equivalent to what you would hear on an AM radio station. This is about the highest quality that we can stream and allow dial-up users to listen without frequent interruptions for buffering, etc. This stream is a LIVE broadcast feed coming from a computer of which we have full control of the playlist, the order of songs, etc. We supply a stream of music to Live365 and they basically rebroadcast it using their audio servers. Live365 is now requiring all listeners to register in order to listen to their internet radio stations. You can register in one of two ways:
Once you’ve registered, you need to make a decision on how you want your computer to play the audio stream. Your choices are as follows:
Once you’ve registered, made a choice for how you wish to play the stream, and clicked to start the stream, you should see a browser-based player window displayed on your computer. It should look like this:

You are welcome to minimize this screen while the music plays. We do apologize in advance for any advertisement that you might find offensive. We’ve done our best to minimize offensive ads…but if you want to completely avoid ads, please register as a VIP or Preferred listener.
Troubleshooting
The streaming process is very simple. It has been very reliable since we started in March 2005. However, some listeners have had problems getting the music to play correctly.
The stream works the best if users will use Internet Explorer for accessing www.holinessmusic.com and also starting the stream. (More technical users may be able to get it to work with other browsers such as FireFox.)
You may also have to disable or adjust your settings if you are using any kind of internet filtering software (i.e., ad blockers or firewalls).
If you cannot get the music to play, the first thing to do is check www.holinessmusic.com and make sure you see our playlists and make sure they are showing song titles.

If you don’t see songs listed here, that means either that our audio server is offline or Live365 is having a problem. If you see songs here, that means our stream is playing and working fine on our end.
Assuming our stream is playing correctly, and you are still not able to get the music to play, please try clearing your internet browser cache. Here are the steps for doing this in Internet Explorer 6.0:
If you are still unable to listen, you will probably need to
check www.live365.com and look for some
troubleshooting information on their website.
